Lee S. Golomb

Lee S. Golomb

GOLOMB: On Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, Lee S. Golomb passed away peacefully with his wife, Sandy, by his side. Born Dec. 7, 1944, to Pearl M. and Bernard L. Golomb, Lee grew up in Squirrel Hill and graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1963. He earned his liberal arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his master’s degree from Duquesne University. Lee and Sandy met as teenagers and married in 1968, sharing nearly six decades of love, family and life together. His greatest pride was his family. He cherished his son Adam, his right-hand man and best friend, and his daughter-in-law, Dr. Dana Rofey, whose devotion and advocacy meant so much to him, particularly during his final months. He was immensely proud of his three granddaughters, Ella, Ava and Nora, and took great joy in their accomplishments, interests and growing independence. He is also survived by David Golomb and family. Lee’s legacy extended beyond his family. After 13 years teaching at Westinghouse High School, he built a successful career in business while continuing to serve others. He served as treasurer of Temple Emanuel of South Hills, advocated for older adults as an ombudsman, and volunteered with Mission of Mercy. A lifelong Pittsburgher, Lee loved the Steelers, Pitt football, music, travel and his rescued animals. His Chinese Crested, Ike, was his devoted companion for 17 years. Though Lee is no longer by their side, he will forever be part of their lives — in family stories, familiar songs, cherished traditions and the countless moments that bring a smile through the tears. His absence will be deeply felt, but the love he gave will never be lost. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Andrew Carnegie Free Library, 300 Beechwood Avenue, Carnegie, PA 15106, or Temple Emanuel of South Hills, 1250 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15243. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. schugar.com PJC
