Eradicate Hate speaker defends record on Israel
Nothing in my work is remotely anti-Zionist (“Eradicate Hate brings sixth annual conference to Pittsburgh,” Sept. 25). Indeed, my recommended solution to stop the second intifada that I published in my well-known American Political Science Review article in August 2003 was adopted by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in 2005 — and it successfully shut down the suicide terrorist campaign killing Israelis.

In support of a Jewish community high school
I could not agree more with Casey Weiss’ assessment of the need for a Jewish community high school in Pittsburgh (“Jewish Pittsburgh’s next pioneers,” Oct. 2)

My daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter are the only Jewish family in their neighborhood and my granddaughter was the only Jewish child in her school. The best decision they made was to transfer my granddaughter to Community Day School at the start of sixth grade. Now in eighth grade, CDS has been transformative for her.

They have just begun navigating the landscape to find a suitable high school. Extending CDS to grades 9-12 would be a godsend for her and the entire Jewish community.
