PITTS: Marcia L. “Marcy” Pitts age 65 of Pittsburgh died on Saturday January 11, 2014 at UPMC Magee. She was born on May 30, 1948 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Sylvia Ackerman Pitts. She is survived by her sister Robby (Jay Starr) Levy of Delray Beach, FL, nephew Howard (Melissa) Levy of Hingham, MA, niece Jennifer Levy of Manhattan, NY and 3 great nephews; Jack, Alex, and Charlie, aunts; Harriet Marks and Bernice Tannenbaum, and wonderful cousins. Marcy was a 1966 graduate of McKeesport High School, a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh where she earned Bachelor of Arts Degree and her Master’s of Science Degree in Social Work. Marcy retired from The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania where she was an Advocate for Social Security and Disability Benefits. Presently she operated her own business as an Advocate for Social Security and Disability Benefits. Marcy was the first woman and member of the ticket selling union for the Civic Arena, Pgh. Friends were received on Monday at the Jennifer S. Jordan Funeral Home, Inc., White Oak with Rabbi Paul Tuchman officiating. Interment will follow in Elrod Cemetery.
