An arrest warrant is being issued in connection with Thursday’s shooting in the parking lot of the Giant Eagle in Squirrel Hill.
Pittsburgh police are reporting that a male victim was shot in the lower back and taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital in serious condition. He was treated and released.
According to police, officers responded to the call at 3:59 p.m. They found a witness who reportedly saw two white males running from the lot toward Beacon Street, and two black males driving off in an SUV with dark tinted windows.
A second call came At 4:17 p.m., for a 31-year-old white male shot in the right hip on the corner of Murray and Phillips Avenues — three blocks from the scene of the shooting. Officers arrived and found the victim with a gun shot wound to the lower back.
Commander Kathryn Degler of the Zone 4 station, said the actors knew each other and that the incident was not a random act of violence.
