Prospective jurors for the trial of the man accused of murdering 11 Jews in the Tree of Life building are being summoned to court beginning Monday to fill out questionnaires that will determine if they can serve on the jury. The procedure will continue over the course of two weeks.

The prospective jurors were selected from a 24-county area in western Pennsylvania.

At a status conference on March 2, U.S. District Judge Robert J. Colville said that when they arrive at court, the prospective jurors will attend a 20-minute session providing them with instructions on how to complete the questionnaire, according to the Tribune-Review. The session will be streamed to a separate courtroom for public viewing.

Prospective jurors will then be led to a private room to complete the questionnaires.

The trial is scheduled to begin with jury selection on April 24. The government is seeking the death penalty. PJC
