Jack Edwin Rosen
ROSEN: Jack Edwin Rosen, age 91, of Squirrel Hill, passed away peacefully on Oct. 1, 2026, surrounded by his entire family, including his five beloved grandchildren, who were by his side during his final days. Jack was the son of the late Morris and Bessie (Schwartz) Rosen. He graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned both his undergraduate degree and MBA. During his time at Pitt, Jack proudly played trumpet in the Pitt marching band. Jack joined the Air National Guard and served honorably for many years before being discharged. In 1961, Jack married the love of his life, Myrna Edelson, at B’nai Israel. They shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Myrna (Edelson); his daughters, Elicia Cinque and Allison Ackerman; his son, Brad Rosen (Kristee); his grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin, Emily, Dylan and Sarah; and his three great-grandchildren, Skylar, Bexlee and Reya. Jack was a self-employed manufacturers’ sales representative who worked with numerous houseware and hardware companies throughout the country. He also owned several retail establishments in the Pittsburgh area. Jack had a lifelong love of staying active and especially enjoyed working out and the camaraderie at the JCC, where he was cherished and beloved by so many in the Jewish community. He proudly attended his grandchildren’s games and activities cheering them on and always taking an active interest in their lives. He also found great pleasure in tending to his garden, especially his beloved tomato plants, and took pride in sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. Above all else, Jack’s greatest joy was spending time with his wife and family. He was a devoted partner to Myrna and supported her career as a calligraphy instructor at Carnegie Mellon University in every way he could. He faithfully drove her to and from her weekly classes and gladly carried her supplies, always ensuring she had everything she needed. Jack will be remembered for his devotion to those he loved, his strong work ethic, his generosity, and his remarkable ability to form deep and meaningful connections with everyone whose path he crossed. He had a genuine interest in people and a special ability to make those around him feel seen, valued and cared for. His warmth, humor, kindness and presence left a lasting impression on countless people throughout his life. Jack will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, his many friends and all the people whose lives he touched. Burial at Beth Shalom Cemetery, 1501 Anderson Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15209.
