Police Detective Chris Bell of Christchurch, New Zealand, retrieves two Torah scrolls from the Chabad house rubble in Christchurch, Wednesday, March 2. A 6.3-magnitude earthquake that struck the city Feb. 22 destroyed the Chabad house and damaged the Jewish community’s synagogue there. Some 600 Jews live in Christchurch. The overall death toll stands at 166.
