Michael J. Levenson

LEVENSON: Michael J. Levenson. On Thursday, Oct. 15, age 59, passed away peacefully at his home. Michael was loved for his larger-than-life presence and personality as well as his kindheartedness and caring. He lived life according to his own terms, working many years as an engineer modifying, certifying and repairing commercial and military aircraft. Michael loved sports cars, travelling the world and enjoying good food, and was a wine connoisseur. A big fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Michael would frequently go to the arena just before puck drop to check on last-second ticket availability. Son of the late Abe and Ann Levenson, he is survived by his fiancé, Sisa Beckwith, and half-sister Rita Tauberg with whom he shared the same father. He also had a very close and special bond with his nephew David Tauberg (Anne Hawkins), niece Faith Siskind (Steven) and great-nephews Samuel and Adam Siskind. Michael will be dearly missed by many close friends from around the country and the world. A special thanks to all his wonderful, loving home caregivers and the kind, passionate staff at UPMC homecare and hospice. Donations to honor Michael’s memory may be made to Just Harvest at justharvest.org, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at pancan.org or Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank at pittsburghfoodbank.org. There will be a private ceremony. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., family-owned and -operated. www.schugar.com PJC
