Martin “Marty” Schwartz

SCHWARTZ: Martin “Marty” Schwartz, age 72, of Bridgeville, formerly of Mt. Lebanon and Squirrel Hill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026. He was born on Jan. 21, 1954, and was son of the late Samuel and Faye (Lieberman) Schwartz. Beloved husband of Fern (Gelfand) Schwartz. Dear father of Elysa Schwartz and Julian Schwartz. Zey Zey of Lydia Schwartz. Brother of Ferne (Kenny) Oskie, Amy (David) Stangel and Andrew (Mary) Schwartz. Marty was a loving husband, son, dad, brother, uncle, Zey Zey, cousin and friend. He had a career spanning from night auditor, to the Skinny Dip Ice Cream shop owner to his own accounting business, Martin D. Schwartz & Associates. A proud alum of Robert Morris, Marty also had a love of cars, listening to his friends play in the band Acoustic Daze, and old TV shows, including a ring tone with the “Leave It to Beaver” theme. He loved his food and would drive hours to Cleveland for his corned beef brisket sandwich and matzo ball soup or to Squirrel Hill for his Mineo’s pizza with mushrooms, green peppers and onions. Funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, at 11 a.m. in William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp., 15220, (412-563-2800). Visitation with the family one hour prior to service (10 to 11 a.m.). Interment in Temple Beth Israel in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
