Lorraine Helen (Newhouse) Mundell
MUNDELL: Lorraine Helen (Newhouse) Mundell passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 22, after a long illness. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert Mundell, and by her devoted daughters, Leslie Mundell and Amy (David) Bahm. Her greatest joy in life was her three grandchildren, Jonathan, Bryan and Evan Bahm. She was the daughter of the late Ruth and Joseph Newhouse and the cherished sister of Rosalind (Farrel) Levine and the late Marilyn (Julian) Bernard. She was adored by her many nieces and nephews and cousins. Born in Tarentum, Pennsylvania, Lorraine attended Har-Brack high school (class of 1959), and Robert Morris University. She was a longtime employee of the University of Pittsburgh, the place where she met the love of her life and future husband. She retired in 1998 to be able to spend more time with her grandchildren. Even with failing health due to Alzheimer’s disease, she retained her ability to enjoy seeing her family and friends and kept her sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. The family would like to thank the staff at Asbury Heights, St. Clair Hospital, and Gallagher Hospice for their kindness and excellent care. Services and interment were private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to Temple Emanuel of South Hills. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., family owned and operated. schugar.com PJC
