Missing the point when talking about Israel
When the topic of recent events in Israel came up, a friend of mine last week said:
What we are seeing now in Israel is the logical consequence of the policies of many years. People debate about a two-state or one-state solution, but that is missing the point. The settlements are illegal, and the occupation is immoral. We have to deal
with that.

While blunt, I think she hit the nail on the head. To borrow a phrase from Hillel, everything else is commentary.
