The Film Pittsburgh board of directors and staff announced last week that it had “made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel this year’s JFilm Festival, which would have run April 23 – May 3” because of health concerns and restrictions related to the coronavirus.

“We are heartbroken that we will not get the opportunity to share these incredible films with you, our beloved festival family,” the JFilm team wrote in a prepared statement.

This year’s festival would have featured 20 Pittsburgh premieres of world-class independent films, with 11 countries and nine languages represented. PJC
