Beginning Monday, May 23, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh – South Hills will host a week of programing to coincide with National Senior Health and Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 25.

The programming will include a variety of cooking, dancing, art and outdoor fitness classes “all to promote healthy living and lifestyles for older adults,” according to JCC officials.

“One of our goals at the JCC is to help adults to be active, healthy, and independent throughout their lives and so it makes sense for us to take part in National Senior Health and Fitness Day,” Fitness and Wellness Program Coordinator Elaine Cappucci said. “We are so excited to promote the importance of regular physical activity, and to show our members how much we care about their wellbeing.”

JCC members can bring a guest and get a free personal training session for two. Members may also bring a guest to any Silver Sneakers class or group exercise class throughout the week.

Free blood pressure screenings, nature walks, and aqua aerobics beach parties will also be available. PJC
