The first yahrzeit of Rabbi Dr. Avraham J. Twerski will be commemorated during a memorial program on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 12:30 p.m. ET, hosted by The AJT Learning Center, which was established in Twerski’s memory.
“In the span of his decades-long career, Rabbi Dr. Avraham J. Twerski zt”l became renowned as a respected and beloved figure, who revolutionized the Torah world in its approach to personal and spiritual growth,” AJT officials said in a prepared statement. “Rabbi Twerski spent decades in Pittsburgh, receiving his psychiatric training at the University of Pittsburgh and founded the Gateway Rehabilitation Center.”
Featured speakers at the program include Twerski’s brother, the Hornosteipler Rebbe of Milwaukee, Rabbi Michel Twerski and Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, vice president emeritus of the Orthodox Union. Also speaking will be Twerski’s grandson, Rabbi Benzion Twerski, and Dr. Yaakov Freedman, a psychiatrist who was mentored by Twerski.
All speakers will be live in Ramat Beit Shemesh and broadcast globally via livestream video.
