FIKS: Faina (Fay) Fiks passed away peacefully at her Squirrel Hill home on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Semyon Fiks. Loving mother of Anna (Sam) Roberman and Asya (Vladimir) Galperin. Sister of the late Bella Beizerman. Grandmother to Olga (Mark) Pizov, Michael (Erica) Roberman, and Lauren (Andrew) Blum. Great-grandmother to Alex Pizov, Ben Pizov, and Mila Roberman. Born in eastern Ukraine during the 1920’s, Fay survived WWII as a child. She immigrated from the Soviet Union to Pittsburgh in 1977, and has lived in Squirrel Hill ever since. She was a gregarious person who was loved by all who knew her. She helped many people in multiple ways, and her house was always open to friends. She will be surely missed. Services were at Ralph Schugar Chapel followed by private interment services at Homewood Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
