Elinor Cooperman Katz
Elinor served the Jewish community in a myriad of ways. She and her late husband served as chairs of the Israel Bond’s 25th Anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel. Elinor, who joined ORT in 1955 quickly, became a chapter President, and then Region President followed by many years as a National Executive Committee Vice President. The ORT convention, held at the newly opened Pittsburgh Hilton was at her suggestion. The thousands of “ORTists” saw our city in a new light. The old saying that “you never came clean from Pittsburgh” was finally dispelled.
A memorial service will be held at the home of her sister (after Yom Kipur) at: One Hydin Road, Pittsburgh, PA, 15217. Contributions can be made to ORT America, 75 Maiden Lane, 10th Floor. New York, NY 10038.
