A music video showcasing Emma Kaufmann Camp, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh’s overnight camp in Morgantown, West Virginia, topped 6,500 views on YouTube less than three days after it was released.

The video, “Are You Ready?” a line-dancing, finger-snapping lip dub made in July 2011, features EKC’s almost 600 campers and staff strutting their stuff to the camp’s signature song, a mixup by Hermes House Band of the John Denver classic, Country Roads. The video had a secret release to campers and their families, alumni and staff on August 5 following a sneak preview trailer released on Wednesday, August 3, that received more than 2,000 hits in less than two days.

Making and posting lip dub videos on YouTube is this summer’s latest craze for camps across the nation. EKC’s video project turned into a fun and creative way to showcase the spirit and enthusiasm of camp while highlighting all the activities and facilities that the camp has to offer. The JCC produced this camp video with Pittsburgh photographer and videographer Joshua Franzos.
