Dr. Jack Mannheimer
MANNHEIMER: On Sunday, June 7, 2026, Dr. Jack Mannheimer, 84, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. Born the son of the late Kurt and Bessie Mannheimer. Jack was a devoted father to Alan Mannheimer (Courtney Aronowsky), Paul Mannheimer and Lori Baran (Artie Baran). Cherished Grandfather of Kurt Baran, Kylie Baran and Grady Sullivan. Brother of Bernie Mannheimer. Jack graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1962 and earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1966. He proudly served his country as a psychiatrist in the United States Army from 1970 to 1972. Following his military service, Jack returned to Pittsburgh, where he built a distinguished career in psychiatry for over 50 years, devoting his career and life to his patients. An avid tennis player and accomplished skier, he enjoyed staying active and spending time outdoors. He especially loved warm-weather vacations with his family. Known for his love of ice cream and outings to the movies. Jack’s greatest joy was his family. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren. A lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan, Steelers season ticket holder dating back to Three Rivers Stadium; Jack attended two Steeler Super Bowls. Jack even worked as a vendor at Forbes Field in his teenage years. Services will be held at Temple Emanuel of South Hills, 1250 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15243 on Wednesday, June 10, at 2 p.m. Visitation one hour prior (1 to 2 p.m.). Interment Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations of blood or financial contributions to support local blood banks.
