David F. Stock
STOCK: David F. Stock passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a brief illness due to a rare blood disorder on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, 20 Cheshvan 5776; Beloved husband for 52 years of Celia Stock. Devoted father of Jeffrey Stock (Hollis Schachner), of Waltham, Mass., Rachel Stock Spilker (Adam Stock Spilker) of St. Paul, Minn., and Sara Stock Mayo (Jonathan Mayo) of Pittsburgh. Loving brother of Lee Stock (Barbara Stock), Robert Stock and Ruth Stock Zober. Proud grandfather of Eiden, Mirit, Ziv, Liam, Elena, Gavi and Liat. Also survived by a large extended family. A native Pittsburgher, David was an accomplished composer and conductor, as well as the founding artistic director of the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble. He was a retired professor of Duquesne University School of Music. The family would like to thank all of the medical staff at Presbyterian, Montefiore and St. Margaret’s Hospitals, as well as Healthcare At Home Hospice, for their kindness and expertise. Services were held at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. Interment Pliskover Cemetery.
