This year, almost $450,000 was distributed to nearly 200 undergraduate and graduate students. Pictured are three of the scholarship recipients.

Nathaniel Blecher, left, will enter his final year of medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. He will specialize in ophthalmology, and is starting to apply for his residency.
Jonathan Berken, right, also entering his last year of medical school at Pitt, is still deciding his specialty between neurology, pediatrics and pediatric neurology. Jonathan already has a doctorate in neuroscience, specializing in the brain study of bilingualism. He said he wants to practice medicine, but also teach medicine as well.
