More than 100 community members gathered on the corner of Murray Avenue and Darlington Road in Squirrel Hill to demand the release of hostages held by Hamas since Oct. 7.

The Dec. 17 demonstration featured remarks from Pittsburgh’s religious leaders as well as a public installation calling attention to the approximately 17 women who remain captives of Hamas. Red ribbons were tied to pairs of shoes and placed beside photographs of the women believed to be hostages.
