Betty S. Rosenberg

ROSENBERG: Betty S. Rosenberg, age 89, formerly of White Oak and Miami, Florida, died March 27, 2014. She was born in Pgh. on May 19, 1924 and is the daughter of the late Abe and Rebecca Kopelman Darling. She was the wife of the late Norman Rosenberg who died August 8, 2013. She was a retired food service director for South Allegheny High School and a former field representative for the Girl Scouts of Southwestern Pennsylvania. She was a former member of Temple B’nai Israel of White Oak and Temple Beth Am of Pinecrest, Florida, a 4 generation life member of Hadassah, a past president of the Kinneret Chapter of Hadassah in Miami, a life member of Children’s Aid Society of Jewish Women, former member of the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary and a graduate of the Margaret Morrison Carnegie College now known as Carnegie Mellon University. She is survived by children: Susan R. (Richard) Linzer of Monroeville, Richard Rosenberg of Swissvale and Charles K. Rosenberg of Greensburg, grandchildren: Ross (Lindsey) Linzer, Rabbi Maura (Liad Itzhaky) Linzer, Andrew Rosenberg and great grandchild, Sarah Itzhaky. Friends will be received at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) today, Friday, March 28, 2014 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. when services will be held. Burial will follow in Temple Cemetery.Remembrances may be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of Hadassah, 1824 Murray Ave., Pgh., 15217 or the Girl Scouts of Western PA, 30 Isabella Street, Pgh., 15212.
