Anita Grupp
GRUPP: Anita Grupp, age 86, beloved wife of Edward A. Grupp for 63 years, passed away on September 22, 2013 at Allegheny General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Morris Perlmutter & sister of the late Joan Adell. She leaves her daughters Marcy (of Pittsburgh), Lori (of Wilmette, IL) and her son Jerold (Francine) (of Holland, PA) to mourn her. She also leaves two grandsons, Nathaniel and Jacob Grupp and her nephew Steven Adell. Anita was born a Valentine’s Day baby in 1927, a date celebrated by Ed through a gold heart charm engraved with the notes to “My Funny Valentine.” Born in Philadelphia, she moved to Cleveland as a young child. There she graduated from Glenville High School and worked for the Securities and Exchange Commission and also for Social Security, while attending night classes at Cleveland College. After her marriage to Ed and the birth of three children, the young family moved to Mt. Lebanon in 1958, where she resided. In Mt. Lebanon, Anita was the owner of Anita Grupp Field Research Service and gave many homemakers an opportunity to work. Most of all, Anita was a passionate traveler and with Ed, saw the cities of the world from Athens to Zurich and many points in between. She visited every continent (but Antarctica). Services were held at Temple Emanuel, Bower Hill Road, on Wednesday September 25, 2013. Burial was held at Mt Lebanon Cemetery, Temple Emanuel section immediately following the service.
