WEITZ: Alan Weitz, on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Merle Weitz. Devoted father of Jonathan (Gail) Weitz, Melissa (Neil) Chonofsky and David (Judith) Weitz. Brother of the late Harold (Shirley) Weitz. Loving grandfather of Julianna, Haley, Josh, Melayna, and Benjamin. Also survived by a sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Alan and his father had owned a kosher meat market for decades on Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc, 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at 1 p.m. Visitation one hour prior to services (12 noon – 1 p.m.). Interment Homewood Cemetery.
