PEARLMAN: Robert L. Pearlman, 75, of Squirrel Hill passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, David and Molly Pearlman and siblings, Harold and Stanton Pearlman and Helen Selvin. He is survived by his children, Melissa and David, his sister Gerry (Segneff), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Known by his family and friends as “the Great Pearl,” Robert was a life-long Pittsburgher and a fan of all things Pittsburgh.  After graduating from Peabody High School in 1957, he attended the University of Pittsburgh and studied history and social work. Helping others was his life’s work. He served others by working for the Department of Public Welfare for over 40 years. After retiring in 2003, Robert enjoyed spending time with his children, taking classes through Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and celebrating all of Pittsburgh’s sports teams. He was a dedicated member of Shaare Torah Congregation in Squirrel Hill. All that knew him will miss his bright blue eyes, kindhearted personality, mighty sense of humor, and dedication to his family. Graveside services were held at Shaare Torah Cemetery on Tuesday, January 27.
