National Council of Jewish Women Pittsburgh Section will host its first Back 2 School Store (B2SS) in August. NCJW will prepare children from kindergarten to fifth grade from economically disadvantaged families for the new school year with a new outfit and shoes and a backpack filled with school supplies, assisted by a volunteer “personal shopper.” They will also pick a winter coat, hat and gloves.
Volunteers are needed for shoppers, work registration and help to build dressing rooms.

Aryeh Sherman, president and CEO of Jewish Family & Children’s Service, has announced that he will retire in September 2016. He has been with JF&CS for more than 16 years and has spent more than 40 years in the human services field.
The JF&CS board of directors is developing a plan for the transition process. Incoming board chair Jeffrey Freedman has appointed immediate past board chair Wendy Mars to head the search committee.
