Martin Sax

SAX: Martin Sax Ph.D. Died age 96 on September 13, 2015, (29 Elul 5775).  Born in Wheeling, W.Va. Lived most of his life in Pittsburgh. Served in U.S. Navy during World War II, then worked at the Veterans Administration Healthcare System in Oakland as associate chief of staff for research and developement for 38 years and founded the biocrystolography lab and was known for his outstanding contributions to research on a national level. Survived by beloved brothers Sylvan and Robert Sax and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements were entrusted to the Gesher HaChaim Jewish Burial Society. Suggested donations to the Jewish Association on Aging, specifically the kosher Meals on Wheels program, Mollie’s Meals.
