James Richard Ratner
RATNER: James Richard Ratner, 76, formerly of Greensburg, died Friday, March 3, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Carol Lippard Ratner; loving father of Lisa J. Ratner, of Washington, D.C., and Brian A. Ratner (Jamie Peyser), of Potomac, Md.; and adoring grandfather of Noah and Lila Ratner. He was the son of the late Alfred W. and Gertrude “Tootsie” Ratner and brother of the late Jane Ratner Werrin. Jim was a graduate and loyal alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh. Jim and his family were former owners of Greensburg Motor Co. and Jim Ratner Oldsmobile. He proudly spent his whole career in the automobile business, working for many years with the Smail family of dealerships. His father and grandfather were founding members of Congregation Emanu-El Israel in Greensburg, where he previously served on the board of trustees. A service was held at Congregation Emanu-El Israel, 222 N. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601. Kepple-Graft Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
