Gilboa to speak at Beth Shalom about healthy choices for kids

Congregation Beth Shalom will hold the next event in its annual Health Initiative lecture series Monday, March 10. Dr. Deborah Gilboa will lead a discussion entitled “Help Kids Take Responsibility for Their Health.”

Gilboa, Squirrel Hill Health Center family physician, author and founder and CEO of AskDoctorG.com, will discuss how parents can teach their kids to think better about nutrition, exercise, tobacco, substance avoidance and risk-taking in order to build a healthier life.

The final lecture of the series, “Finding Your Way To and Through College: Fostering Resilience in Today’s Culture of Stress” with Kurt Kumler, director of counseling and psychological services at Carnegie Mellon University, is slated for Tuesday, March 25.
