Fresh take on Hamentaschen … watch the video

Dan Saks, of Jewy rock super groups DeLeon and the Macaroons have travelled to the distant island paradise of Trinidad to film this special Purim video.

The video features Saks and the Jewish Trinidadian food blogger Sarina Nicole Bland of TriniGourmet.com baking a Jewish-Caribbean food fusion, the Rum Raisin Hamentaschen. The filling is based on a traditional Trinidadian Christmas dessert called Black Cake that it turns out is even more delicious in Hamentaschen form.
