Dr. Alan J. Tapper
TAPPER: Dr. Alan J. Tapper passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 87. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith Tapper, loving children S. Scott Tapper (Elizabeth) and Amy Jennifer Tapper (Adam Israel), adoring grandchildren Alex, Katie, Sashie and Nicky, great-grandchildren Wesley and Brooks, loving siblings Dr. Edward Tapper (Betsy) and Nancy Tapper Smith (late Robert), and many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Alan was a highly esteemed obstetrician-gynecologist, a talented artist and athlete, and a great wit. He was known for his humor, charm, and interest in all who knew him. A native Pittsburgher who remained a Steelers fan despite decades living in Baltimore, Alan is a graduate of Shady Side Academy, Brown University and the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. Services were held in Baltimore. Contributions in his memory can be sent to the Maryland Institute College of Art, the SEED School of Maryland, Gilman School, or Bryn Mawr School. PJC
