The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh’s Board of Directors approved $225,000 in emergency funding to assist Israelis impacted by the recent attacks connected to Operation Roaring Lion, according to a news release. The funds will support the Jewish Agency for Israel’s Operation Roaring Lion Fund.

The Jewish Agency has reported “significant needs across affected communities” since the beginning of the war against Iran on Saturday, Feb. 28, and its Operation Roaring Lion Fund provides “immediate financial assistance, trauma support and long-term recovery services to individuals and families affected by terror attacks.”

“In moments like these, our community stands with the people of Israel,” said Jeff Finkelstein, CEO of Pittsburgh’s Federation. “Through the Jewish Agency’s Operation Roaring Lion Fund, this support will provide individuals and families with urgent care immediately and help them to begin to rebuild. Our collective Federation approach enables this vibrant response.” PJC
