Cuddy Briskin, 90, found slain in his Squirrel Hill home
Outrage has spread through the Jewish community and beyond in response to the murder of Cuddy Briskin, 90, a longtime Squirrel Hill resident who was found dead in his home Wednesday afternoon with a plastic bag over his head, apparently beaten to death.
Briskin lived on Fernwald Road, in an area of Squirrel Hill set aside from the neighborhood’s business district, known for its calmness — not for violence.
Briskin owned Briskin Furs before his nephew Ken Briskin took over in 1996. He had lived alone since the death of his wife, Ethel, last December. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Terpack and Barbara Shapira, and his sister Shirley Littman.
The murder is currently under investigation. Check back with the Chronicle for more details as they develop.
