Bertha "Bert" (Pachtman) Katz

KATZ: Bertha “Bert” (Pachtman) Katz; Peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2013; She was born in Pittsburgh, the youngest of seven siblings, to Morris and Fannie Pachtman. She married the late Philip Katz in 1939. She is survived by her children; Rhoda Mathias, Martin (Jane) Katz, and Maury (Ellen) Katz; 8 grandchildren, Ericka Samuels (David Wilson), Laini (Brian) DeLawter, Jessica (Bill) Irwin, Lauren (Scott) Woodard, Alexis (Matt) McClurg, Perry (Laurel) Katz, Paul Katz and Jonathan Katz; and 9 great-grandchildren; Owen, Reece and Luke DeLawter, Will and Caroline Irwin, Taylor and Madison Woodard, Evan McClurg and Alexa Katz. Bert graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School and then studied at the University of Pittsburgh. She raised her family and then worked for many years for the Pennsylvania State Liquor Control Board. She enjoyed playing bridge, canasta and mahjong. Bert moved to South Florida after her husband passed away and enjoyed living there for 16 years before returning to Pittsburgh. Services and Interment were PRIVATE.
