BALLON: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Ballon, who passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2025, at the age of 95. Born in Pittsburgh on Aug. 29, 1929, to parents Abraham and Rebecca, Jack graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jack was a successful real estate broker and developer, responsible for creating Treasure Lake in DuBois, Pennsylvania, Alpine Lake Resort in West Virginia, and Cross Creek Resort in Southern California. While he achieved much professional success, Jack will be remembered most for his love of family, quick wit and kind heart. He embraced life to the fullest, enjoying simple pleasures like a daily walk after dinner with an apple in hand. Jack was preceded in death by his siblings, William, Richard and Devorah. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Marilyn Roth, and their three sons Bruce (Amy), Robert (Monica) and Jonathan (Kristina), 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Jack’s memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him. At the age of 95, he lived a full and wonderful life.
