Chronicle wins two 2025 Golden Quill Awards
Chronicle takes awards in Profile and Lifestyle categories
The Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle was recognized for outstanding journalism by the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania at the Golden Quill Awards ceremony on May 28 at the Rivers Casino.
Chronicle Senior Staff Writer Adam Reinherz won the 2024 Golden Quill Award for Excellence in Written Journalism — Profile, for “Blind painter finds his way with partnership and creation.” Freelancer Justin Vellucci won in the Lifestyle category for “A daughter’s promise: 85 days quarantining in a nursing home.”
Reinherz also was a finalist in the History/Culture category for “Reporter’s Notebook: History, memory and responsibility lead to life in Auschwitz.”
Chronicle Senior Staff Writer David Rullo was a finalist in the Education category with two stories: “After Oct. 7, antisemitism in high schools more subtle, less overt” and “Jewish students at Pitt’s School of Medicine face anti-Israel, antisemitic rhetoric.” PJC
