Zelda Feinberg
FEINBERG: Zelda Feinberg; A thirty-year resident of New Castle and teacher in the New Castle Area Schools, passed away April 2, 2013 in The Woodlands, TX. She was born to Morris and Dora Wilner in Beaver Falls, PA on February 12, 1917 and graduated from Beaver Falls High School and Geneva College. During World War II, she served in the US Navy as a WAVE. She taught English at George Washington Junior High School for many years and then moved to New Castle Senior High School where she taught Latin and Mythology. She was a member of Tifereth Israel Synagogue in New Castle and traveled extensively in her retirement years with her friends and her sister. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Leslye Feinberg, her daughter, Louise Feinberg, and her grandson, Joshua Feinberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Samuel Feinberg, and her sister, Anne Samuels who was a 50-year resident of New Castle. Graveside Services and Interment were held at Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Shalom, 5125 Shadowbend Place, The Woodlands, TX 77381.
