FROST: Samuel Frost; Age 86 of Squirrel Hill passed away September 28th 2012. Born in Ulanow , Poland, Sam was the only member of his family to survive the holocaust. After his liberation from the concentration camp, Sam immigrated to Sweden where he met and married his wife Anna and had two of his three children. Sam, along with his young wife and children, immigrated to the United States in 1951. With the assistance of the UJF, Sam settled in Pittsburgh, Pa and started his own plumbing business. Because Sam enjoyed kibitzing with his customers ,many of whom were his friends and neighbors, he worked as a plumber until he was 75 years old.Sam also enjoyed socializing and exercising at the JCC where he and his wife were members for many years.But his favorite pastime was fishing with his friends and with his son and grandson. Sam was also a European history enthusiast, and enjoyed traveling with his wife. Sam is preceded in death by his father, Abraham Frost, his mother, Rachael (Wien) Frost, his sisters Leah and Rosie Frost and his brothers, Max and Jacob Frost. He is also preceded by his loving wife Anna Frost, who passed away in March of this year. He is survived by his son Abraham (Beth) Frost, of Sewickley, his daughters, Ava (Frost) Head of Marietta GA, and Shirley (Marty) Frost- Diamond of Westfield NJ, and his grandchildren, Kenny Diamond of Westfield NJ, Jeffrey Diamond of Boston MA, Debby Head of Marietta GA, Shannon Frost and Jarrod Frost of Sewickley. Services were held at Rodef Shalom Temple. Interment West View Cemetery of Rodef Shalom Congregation.
