The Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, which shuttered last week due to COVID-19 concerns, will open its facilities for a series of upcoming blood drives.

Operated in conjunction with Vitalant (formerly Central Blood Bank), the blood drives are “for desperately needed blood donations in our Squirrel Hill and South Hills facilities” and will occur in “controlled and sanitary environments,” according to a press release.

In Squirrel Hill (5738 Darlington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15217), upcoming dates include March 27, April 1, April 3, April 8 and April 10.

In the South Hills (345 Kane Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15243), upcoming dates include March 27, April 3 and April 10.

Both facilities will be open on those dates between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.; however, appointments are “strongly encouraged.”

To schedule an appointment visit vitalant.org. Click on the “Make an Appointment” button and search w/group code C189; or download the Vitalant-Pittsburgh mobile app for your smartphone; or call 877.25.VITAL (877-258-4825). PJC
