Parking policy in place for holidays

Parking policy in place for holidays

The City of Pittsburgh will again extend the courtesy of a no ticketing policy for street cleaning and/or early trash placement during Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah.
City Councilman Doug Shields has provided the appropriate departments with the dates of each holiday and explained, as well, that each holiday begins and ends at sundown.
The Bureau of Public Safety is advising worshippers to make every effort to park their vehicles legally prior to each holiday so that officers are not forced to tow them. Examples of this would be parking too close to the corner, near a fire hydrant or blocking a loading zone that would cause a physical hazard that would need to be addressed without delay.
