Holocaust Center exhibition ‘3 Perspectives’ to open Dec. 5
The Holocaust Center of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh is curating a traveling exhibition intended to foster understanding of the Shoah through art, narrative writing and history.
The exhibition, called “3 Perspectives: An Attempt to Understand,” will have a formal opening, Thursday, Dec. 5, at 5:30 p.m. at Union Hall/Bar Marco, 2216 Penn Ave., the Strip District. The exhibit, however, will be available for viewing starting Nov. 22.
The exhibition will feature the works of local writer/poet Judith Robinson and artist Kara Ruth Snyder. Both will be on hand for the opening.
“We all approach the events of the Holocaust from unique perspectives,” Hilary Tyson, chair of the Holocaust Center, said in a prepared statement. “It is through these perspectives that we try to make sense of this world that we live in.”
The exhibition will be on display at Union Hall/Bar Marco until Dec. 30. It will then travel to the Hillel Jewish
University Center, 4607 Forbes Ave. in Oakland, where it will be on display until Feb. 2. The final stop is the Jewish Community Center, 5738 Forbes Ave. in Squirrel Hill, where it will be on display from Feb. 3 to March 2.
Holocaust Center donors, either through direct annual giving or gifts to endowment funds, are funding the project.
