Federation centennial display opens at JCC

The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh has unveiled a 14-panel history display, to be on exhibit throughout the month of September in the American Jewish Museum of the Jewish Community Center, 5738 Forbes Ave., in Squirrel Hill.
The display highlights the development of the Pittsburgh Jewish community in general and the Federation in particular, presenting an overview of each decade from the 1910s, when the Federation was founded as the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies, to the present day.
Included are archival photos and excerpts from historical documents. A comprehensive timeline provides greater detail regarding specific events within each decade.
The display is part of the centennial celebration of the Federation.
The display is part of a series of special programs and projects that will mark the Jewish Federation’s Centennial Year, which officially kicks off at the agency’s annual meeting, Sept. 21, 7 p.m. in the JCC’s Levinson Hall.
