title: The Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition Annual Neighborhood Meeting and Open House
description: All are invited to SHUC’s 2017 neighborhood meeting and open house to be held on Thursday November 16th 7pm at the JCC in Squirrel Hill. We will be focusing on the topic: “Transportation Safety and Mobility: Moving Safely and efficiently in Squirrel Hill.” Our featured speakers for the evening are Director Karina Ricks from the newly formed City of Pittsburgh Department of Mobility and Infrastructure, as well as Mark Magalotti, professor and coordinator from the University of Pittsburgh’s Transportation Engineering Program.
After a brief overview of her department, Director Ricks and Professor Magalotti will discuss how the city’s Complete Streets perspective and other possibilities for improving pedestrian-bicycle safety can keep drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians moving safely and efficiently in an intersection like Forward-Murray-Pocusset, particularly during the current period of construction.
SHUC Board members and partners will also be on hand to discuss various committee projects and programs at their interactive tables to be found around the perimeter of Levinson Hall. Come find out how you can be involved with your community and the SHUC organization!
Light refreshments will be served. For more information, please go to http://shuc.org/annual-meeting-2017/ or call us at 412-422-7666
