Hill District Bus and Walking Tour

escription: New Light Men’s Club and Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church have rescheduled this trip to July 1. Please join us on a bus and walking tour of Pittsburgh’s Hill District, where African American and Immigrant Jews were once neighbors in this culturally diverse renaissance neighborhood. Tour guides from the Hill House and the History Center will guide you through historical remnants and the story of this colorful neightborhood where the Great Immigration from Jewish Europe met the Great Migration from the South.
Highlights include Freedom Corner, The Lyceum, August Wilson’s Family House, The Crawford (Jazz) Grill, Kether Torah Synagogue, Hebrew Institute, Logan Street, “Jewtown,” and surprise guest speakers.
