description: On Tuesday, July 10 at Rodef Shalom, a celebration of the official book launch of “The Seventeenth Generation,” a book authored by Eric Lidji about the life’s work of Rabbi Walter Jacob. Born into a rabbinic lineage that encompasses hundreds of years in Europe, Dr. Jacob spent four decades as Rodef Shalom’s rabbi, and now Rabbi Emeritus and continues to be a Jewish scholar of international renown. He founded the Abraham Geiger College in Germany and ordained the first rabbis in the country since the end of WWII – his 17th Generation.
A program featuring a reading by Eric Lidji and remarks by Dr. Jacob will begin at 6 p.m. with a reception to follow . A cover of $36 includes a signed book. RSVP at www.rodefshalom.org/17gen
