Acclaimed ‘Book of Ruth’ musical livestreams in May

This May, as Jews across the world celebrate receiving the Torah, local community theater company ShpielBurgh Productions will be livestreaming its popular musical production of “The Book of Ruth,” originally staged in May 2018. Livestream show dates are: Thursday, May 13, at 7:30 p.m. EST; Sunday, May 16, at 3:30 p.m. EST; and Wednesday, May 19, at 7:30 p.m. EST.

The show features the talents of 67 adults, teens, children and clergy who belong to 14 synagogues and Jewish prayer groups throughout the Pittsburgh region. With music — but not the language! — from “The Book of Mormon,” this family-friendly show has won the praise of people from across the age spectrum. And the livestreamed version includes closed-captioning!
