DESCRIPTION:John Thorn\, MLB’s Official Historian was born in Germany to Polish Jewish parents in a displaced persons camp in 1947. His parents moved him to New York City\, where he fell in love with baseball. In a special online event organized in cooperation with Pittsburgh Hardball Academy\, urban Pittsburgh’s premier nonprofit youth baseball club\, John Thorn will talk about Black\, Jewish and urban baseball\, his own life story\, and Pittsburgh’s place in baseball history.
