SUMMARY:From Broken to Whole: A Communal Pesah Seder
DESCRIPTION:Image courtesy of Congregation Beth Shalom\n	\ntitle: From Broken to Whole: A Communal Pesah Seder\ndescription: Pesah is the season of renewal\, of healing. \nThe cycle of the seder begins with breaking the middle matzah\, the afikoman. Why do we break it? To remind us that what is broken may be made whole again. In the telling (“haggadah”) of the tale of the Exodus\, we learn that by emerging from the narrow place of Mitzrayim (usually read as Egypt)\, our nation was formed\, our spirit renewed\, and the wounds of slavery began to heal. \nWhat is your Mitzrayim? We will gather as a community on the second night of Pesah to seek wholeness\, to find strength in this ancient story that continues to bring us healing today. Come join us! \nAdults: $50.00 each | Children 7 – 17 years old: $25.00 each | Under 7 years old: Free\nstart-date: 2018-03-31\nstart time: 6:00 p.m.\nend date: 2018-03-31\nend time: 9:00 p.m.\nall-day event:\nrecurring event: No\nevent address: Congregation Beth Shalom\n5915 Beacon Street\nPittsburgh\, PA 15217\nevent organizer: Rabbi Seth Adelson\nevent website: http://tinyurl.com/bspesah2018\nevent cost: Adults: $50.00 each | Children 7 – 17 years old: $25.00 each | Under 7 years old: Free

SUMMARY:Beth Shalom Communal 2nd Seder
DESCRIPTION:Beth Shalom Communal 2nd Seder\ndescription: “Because you were strangers in Egypt” (Ex. 22:20) – one tradition teaches that the Torah exhorts us no less than 36 times not to mistreat the sojourner among us\, because we know what it means to be an alien. When we tell the Exodus story every year at the seder\, we are reminded to think of ourselves as slaves. But do we also think of ourselves as strangers? Do we recall that among the essential duties connected to our freedom is to take responsibility for the vulnerable in our very neighborhood? \nJoin us on the second night of Pesah as we examine these and other questions\, drink four cups of wine\, eat a Hillel sandwich\, and dine as free people. \nAdults: $50.00/each\nChildren (7-17): $25.00/each\nChildren (under 7): Free\nstart-date: 2019-04-20\nstart time: 6:00 PM\nend date:\nend time:\nall-day event:\nrecurring event: No\nevent address: Congregation Beth Shalom\n5915 Beacon Street\nPittsburgh\, PA 15217\nevent organizer: Congregation Beth Shalom\nevent website: https://tinyurl.com/CBSPesah5779\nevent cost: See registration for details.
