SUMMARY:Performing Arts Camp presents 'All Shook Up'

They’re very impressive.”\nThe energetic show is full of recognizable music and fun choreography by JCC dance director Kathy Wayne and her son\, Davis Wayne.\nPerformances will be held in the Katz Theatre\, JCC Robinson Building\, 5738 Darlington Road\, as follows: Wednesday\, July 12\, 7 p.m.; Thursday\, July 13\, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Friday\, July 14 at 2 p.m.\nCall 412-339-5414 for tickets. The Semer record label was founded in Berlin\,1932 to record Jewish music. On November 9\, 1938 (Kristallnacht)\, more than 4\,500 of the records were destroyed by the Nazis. From 1992‐2001\, German musicologist Rainer E. Lotz scoured the globe searching for the recordings in far‐ ung places; miraculously\, he succeeded in collecting the entire roster of Semer’s output. Berlin’s Jewish Museum commisioned Indianapolis‐born composer Alan Bern to put together an ensemble with the purpose of performing the Semer repertoire. It was rst performed at a klezmer festival in 2012.\nFor the whole story: http://forward.com/culture/357057/bringing‐jewish‐music‐ back‐from‐ the‐ashes‐of‐kristallnacht/\nContact:\nRabbi Ron Symons\, JCC Senior Director of Jewish Life 412.697.3235; Cell: 412.736.4334; email: rsymons@jccpgh.org\nLauren Bairnsfather\, PhD\, Executive Director\, Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh 412‐939‐7287 or 412‐421‐1500; email lbairnsfather@hcpgh.org
